Proposals Sought for Refinement Studies

Two organizations have issued calls for proposals aimed at refining the housing and/or handling of laboratory animals.

The Animal Welfare Enhancement (AWE) Awards, offered by the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT), are now in their third year. The full call for proposals for the 2006 AWE awards is available here. For information about previous AWE awardees and their projects, see this page.

Information about the Animal Welfare Institute's Refinement Awards can be found here.

In both cases, the awards are for $6,000 each and are limited to North American applicants.
