ICCVAM to Hold Peer Review Meeting on In Vitro Acute Systemic Toxicity Test Methods
Notice of public meeting for a scientific peer review of the use of two in vitro basal cytotoxicity test methods for estimating starting doses for in vivo acute oral toxicity tests was published in the Federal Register today (Vol. 71, No 54, pp 14229-30). The in vitro methods are proposed as adjuncts to in vivo acute oral toxicity tests to reduce and refine (i.e. lessen or avoid pain or distress) animal use. This notice can be found in PDF at http://iccvam.niehs.nih.gov/docs/FR/7114229.pdf or in HTML at http://iccvam.niehs.nih.gov/docs/FR/7114229.htm.
