CAAT Chemical Information Day: November 11, 2009You are invited to the second in a series of CAAT Information Days on specific topics of interest. The November 11 meeting will focus on chemical issues, including REACH and TSCA reauthorization.
The Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) has 28 years of experience in the field as a key hub for information about alternative methods and their use in meeting regulatory requirements. We know from our sponsor companies that enormous information deficits exist with regard to implications of the EU legislation for US companies and the emerging respective US equivalent. We are therefore offering an information day where you can discuss the current situation and opportunities with colleagues from both Europe and the US.
Speakers will include:
- Thomas Hartung, Johns Hopkins University (Director of CAAT and former head of ECVAM, the European Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods)
- David Owen, Shell Chemicals Ltd.
- Richard Becker, American Chemistry Council
- Robert Kavlock, US Environmental Protection Agency
- Sebastian Hoffmann, TÜV Reinland BioTech GmbH (formerly with ECVAM)
- Bennard van Ravenzwaay, BASF
- Paul Locke, Johns Hopkins University
- US Federal Regulatory including EPA, NICEATM, and ICCVAM
The following solution providers will be represented:
- ThermoFisher Scientific
- Life Sciences
- CeeTox Inc.
- IIVS
Presentations will be followed by a discussion period focused on addressing your individual questions. The complete program will be available for viewing mid-October on the CAAT website.
