Call For Abstracts On Enrichment For Poster SessionThe 2013 Enrichment Extravaganza Eli Lilly World Headquarters, Indianapolis, IN April 10, 2013 The Enrichment Advisory committee invites the laboratory animal services community to submit abstracts that illustrate an innovative enrichment method or solution. Submitting a poster abstract is an opportunity to share proven best practices and contribute expertise in a highly respected forum. Two posters will be selected for awards and the primary author will present during the morning plenary session. Download an Abstract Submission Form (PDF) Abstract Submission Deadline: February 15, 2013 Notification of Acceptance: March 15, 2013 Abstract Submission GuidelinesAn Abstract provides a clear and concise summary of the information to be presented in greater detail in the poster session. An abstract usually contains the basic components listed below, but presents the information in a single paragraph. Please limit the summary to 200-250 words. Basic Components of an abstract:1. Motivation/problem statement: Why do we care about the problem? What practical, scientific or theoretical gap is your project filling? 2. Methods/Procedures/Approach: What did you actually do to obtain your results? 3. Results/Findings/Product: As a result of completing your research, what was the outcome? What was learned, invented or created? 4. Conclusion/Implications: What are the larger implications of your findings, especially for the identified gap or problem? Other considerations:- The title (maximum 15 words) should convey without excessive detail the abstract subject matter.
- Tables of data are not permitted in the abstract.
- Do not use trade names, technical jargon, names of products, companies, or institutions, or abbreviations other than units of measurement.
- Each sentence in the abstract should be examined out of context for clarity and economy of words. The abstract should be unified, coherent, and logical in its progression from one section to the next.
- Have grammar, punctuation, and spelling checked by more than one reviewer before final submission.
- The Advisory Committee will adhere to the AALAS journal style for reference. Authors may find information on this format in the “Information for Authors” reference page.
Notification of AcceptanceThe Abstract Review Committee will review submissions and abstract authors will be notified of their submission status by March 15, 2013. Two posters will be select for award and the primary author will present during the morning plenary session. Meeting registration fees are not waived for poster presenters. |
