Call for Nominations for 2012 Harry C. Rowsell Award

Nominations for the 2012 Harry C. Rowsell Award will be accepted by the SCAW office until September 1, 2012. The Awards Committee will then select the recipient and the award will be presented at SCAW's Winter Conference in San Antonio. The Rowsell Award was established by SCAW in 1992 to honor Dr. Rowsell, who is known for his commitment in fostering the dual goals of good science and the humane treatment of animals. 

This award is given in honor of Harry Rowsell, OC, DVM, PhD. Dr. Rowsell was the founder and executive director of the Canadian Council on Animal Care and he was a member of the SCAW Board of Trustees from 1983 to 1986. He was also the first recipient of the award.

To nominate a colleague, please send a description of her/his work that you think exemplifies the commitment to good science and the humane treatment of animals. The nominee can be from the United States or abroad. This description should be limited to one, single spaced, 8-1/2 x 11 page. Additional materials, like a curriculum vita and special project description, may be included. Mail or fax the information to SCAW at the address below.
