Tissue Engineering: The Third Dimension to Animal Replacement (Syposium)The UK NC3Rs and BBSRC are hosting a symposium on 12 June 2012 in central London, UK to highlight the potential of tissue engineering as a scientifically robust means to replace and reduce the use of animals in basic research and safety testing. There is a strong translational theme to the meeting with an 'Industry needs' session where companies (including AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Syngenta, Unilever and Charles River) will highlight their requirements from tissue engineering and stem cell research to address business needs in efficacy and safety testing. There will also be posters with a £1k prize for the poster which best showcases the scientific and 3Rs impact of the research being described. The meeting is free to attend but registration is essential. For more information and to register visit NC3Rs website. Poster abstract submission deadline 8 May 2012. Registration deadline 14 May 2012. For further information, see the PDF announcement. |
