Funding Opportunity: ARDF 2016 Grants

The Alternatives Research & Development Foundation, which funds and promotes alternatives to the use of laboratory animals in research testing and education, is currently soliciting research proposals. 

  • Maximum award per project: $40,000
  • Deadline:  May 2, 2016 (request dropbox by April 28, 2016)
  • Notification of recipients:  July 18, 2016

Criteria: 

  • Potential to significantly reduce or replace laboratory animals
  • Scientific merit and feasibility

Preference for proposals that:

  • Utilize in silico and in vitro methods with human cells or tissues
  • Use pathway-based approaches as exemplified by the 2007 National Academy of Sciences report, Toxicity Testing in the Twenty-first Century: A Vision and A Strategy
