SCAW Offers IACUC-Advanced Workshop
SCAW and other sponsors are holding a one-day workshop at the University
of Notre Dame on October 20, 2009. This will be an IACUC-Advanced
workshop and will provide necessary and recommended training for members
of IACUCs, Attending Veterinarians, Principal Investigators and others
who work with research animals. SCAW Institutional Members receive a
discounted registration fee which includes the workshop and food.
OLAW, AAALAC International, the FDA and USDA all encourage training as
part of every institution's animal care program. This is an opportunity
for a short but powerful training session that is regional and close to
home. The breakout sessions encourage participation from all attendees.
SCAW IACUC-Advanced workshops have very high ratings on the evaluation
forms, both for the excellent Faculty and for the program topics.

If you are interested in a longer training session, SCAW will again hold
a two-day conference in San Antonio on December 7-8, 2009. This year
the program focuses on all aspects of creating and maintaining an IACUC.
