EDUCATION RESOURCESDissection in the ClassroomFor information on dissection-related issues, please go to the Altweb Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section and check out questions #5, 6, and 7. This will provide you links to information about setting up a student-choice policy, databases of available alternative in education, and several organizations that loan out dissection alternatives to students and schools (for no cost, except return postage). There’s also a link to a good book on the subject: “The Use of Animals in Higher Education: Problems, Alternatives, and Recommendations,” published by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). The book is available free online, or you can purchase a copy through HSUS. In addition, we have copies of a small poster about dissection and alternatives (as well as several other posters on alternatives-related information). The information is basically the same as what is in the Altweb FAQs, but we'll be happy to send you a copy (or copies) as a PDF file or printout if you think that would be helpful. Just let us know.
