Description: Provides comprehensive coverage of worldwide literature of agricultural science and related topics, including animal and plant protection, veterinary science, food and nutrition, rural issues and more recently, welfare aspects of animals used in exhibition, education, and research.

Description: A database with veterinary dosages for non-antibiotic drugs. Contains information on more than 800 drugs for use in over 130 animal species including all laboratory and domestic animals, zoo animals, fish, birds, amphibians and reptiles. Over 12,000 dosages are listed with over 4500 of these for pain and anesthesia. The user selects an animal and can then search for information based on a specific drug (ketamine, ivermectin, etc.) and if desired, route of administration. Information retrieved includes the drug name, dosage(s), route of administration, notes on use and literature references. The extrapolation routine of Vetbase can be used in case there is no dosage listed for a particular species. The routine is based on Kleigers law and converts a specific dose and dosing interval to the dose of another animal type. This data base is included in the PREX database.
